Dr. Agrest,
I have reviewed your homepage-it looks quite good. I especially
like the
links that you have chosen. Your hometown of Sukhumi is quite
beautiful...the landscape of Russian cities are seldom seen
in American
classrooms or television reports except those in war torn areas-it
is unlike
any place I've seen before. I was further moved by the Sakharov's
site...he
carries an intensity that is shared by few others. I was taken, though,
by
the statement that he was an atheist...his work and words seem like
those of
an very spiritual man, perhaps the labelling comes from a lack of
description for those outside of generally accepted religious communities.
I did not yet check all of the links on the page-to other family members
and
such, but will. I am fascinated by your family and feel its presence
here to
be a benefit to the entire city.
Thank you, Michael Carnohan-student of Physics, College of Charleston
