Research physicists? At a hospital? Whatever for?
Come find out
how physics priciples are applied in the Functional Neuroimaging
Research Division at MUSC. The physics principles behind three
different tecniques will be discussed:
Functional magnetic resonance
imaging (imaging that reveals brain
activation in response to
a stimulus)
Transcranial magnetic stimulation
(a method of non-invasively
activating the brain using
Faraday's Law of induction)
Electrodermal activity (the
change in skin conductance that
follows increased anxiety
in humans)
