The ray-tracing technique can create extremely compelling computer imagery although it tends to be too slow for real-time applications. This talk examines the mathematical demands of ray tracing in an effort to motivate computer science students to take more mathematics and conversely.
Several small ray-traced movies (usually with a mathematical theme) will be viewed and discussed.
This talk is intended for undergraduates.
